2008 Fishing |
For 2008 we had some interesting Spring Sturgeon action, took some time to get going with cooler temps until mid april, but then the river stayed high until mid july, making for some great side channel fishing for Sturgeon...getting fish in 8 ft of water makes for some fantastic line screaming runs , as they have no where to run except out and away!!
Chinook fishing was a bit of a bust, as was most of the pacific coast from California to Alaska . Something must have happened 4 years ago as far as ocean survival of the young fish.
We had a short (4 day)Sockeye opening last year, which caught all by suprise, as numbers were not expected to warrant any openings.
Chum in the fall was great , but still numbers were down a bit. Coho was spotty with some good fish late into November though.
Fall Sturgeon was average with more large fish being caught, small guys must have been hiding somewhere

2009 Sturgeon Fishing |
2009 forecast is much better than last year
Should be a good Spring Sturgeon fishery , with the outlook for Eulachon being quite good...this will give them a much needed feed after the winter( which is still hanging on)
We have our 8 Hr Spring Sturgeon Special of 4 fishing for the Price of 3 running until June 15th...$640 value for $570
Summer Sturgeon can be quite awesome also, we are generally using small baitfish(Pikeminnow) that are present during summer months Then come the Sockeye and Pinks...spawn and give great food for BIG STURGEON!!!
With all this food from dying fish, the Sturgeon fishing from Sept to late Oct will be just out of this world...most of our dates for Oct are full..some still open though. Most really big fish are taken in November, weather getting nasty , but fishing is great!!!
|
2009 Salmon Fishing |
Chinook(King ) salmon are looking good for later in the year from August to October , Summer will be OK depending on water conditions..ie snow melt!!
As mentioned we have a big run of SOCKEYE Salmon coming this summer...likely opening from Aug 1st to 20th. We are taking bookings for this time and will give a full refund if no opening ocurrs
Right after this will be our massive Pink Salmon run, which will definitely be open. Now booking for PRIME dates from Sept 1st to 21st...great fun on Fly and small spinning gear...sometime upto 75 fish per person per day
Once again CHUM will be supplying most of the action in October on Fly and Jigs

2009 Accomodations |
For some Accomodations this year we are looking to use these local establishments
Forest Echoes Cabins at Cultus Lake for the family groups, great for kids and close to all amenities and summer stuff, yet seems like you are a thousand miles away from civilization.
Fraser Rivers Edge Bed & Breakfast New digs right on the river, we will pick you up at their dock on the river.
Vedder River Inn New Motel right in the heart of Vedder Crossing, fine dining, pub over the road, easy walk to the Vedder River.
Ranch Park Lodge for groups of 6 or 8 is well worth the short distance from town
Our main stay for our guests has been the Rhombus, but this location has been bought by Coast Hotels and is in the process of being renovated, should be a go by mid summer. Then we will use this facility once again, as the location for many activities that fishermen like to do is all around this downtown location.
For the rest of our accomodations see Accomodations for you

FINS and SKINS |
We are looking at holding a "FINS and SKINS " tournament this July or August. This would be held at the Sandpiper golf course, with 4 hrs fishing and 4 hrs golf dinner and prizes
Located on the north side of the Harrison river. They have a boat dock and small aircraft landing strip for alternate access...we use the dock!!!
If you have any interest in this please let us know and we'll guage if this would be a feasable event for us to hold each year.
We do have regular FINS and SKINS Trips that consist of 4 hrs fishing, round of golf, with cart and lunch for $249 per person for a Foursome and $279 each for a Twosome
Give us a call 1 866 867 3474 or email info@aquaventures.ca for dates and availability

2010 Olympics and $ Exchange |
Coming to Vancouver in Feb 2010 are the Winter Olympics
This is being held in Vancouver , Whistler and surrounding area's
We are located just 1 hour from Vancouver and will have Steelhead and Sturgeon fishing happening at that time.
If you plan to be in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics and have the urge to fish either before , during or after....let us know and we'll make that happen for you.
As many know...the canadian dollar is looking very good for foreign travellers from Europe...Euro is exchanging at this time at 1.64cdn ....very good rate as it has been sitting around 1.49 for the past several years. Booking your trips now may save some hard earned monies
As well , the US dollar is looking very good also at 1.24 exchange....which is about 22% better than this time last year....for all our Washington and Oregon customers this is very favourable, with not too far to travel for the lucrative Sockeye fishing that we can expect this summer!!

E-licensing Fishing Licenses |
Another new addition to BC regs this year is E-Licensing In 2009/2010 season you will now be required to obtain a license online, either by buying yourself OR giving us the required info to supply for you.
For more info on this system go to Freshwater Fishing Licensing for BC
A Sturgeon license is now needed to fish for Sturgeon upstream from Mission in all non tidal waters.
On another note, if you are coming to fish this year and wish to pre-order gear and equipment at good prices.
Get a hold of Gary at
Chilliwack Dart and Tackle for all your tackle needs

A word from some happy clients |
Hi Grant. I have to tell you what you did for me. Hooking into a fish like the Sturgeon you put us on was a dream come true. I have seen people catching these monsters on the OLN for long time. I always thought they were the most amazing fish. I caught a 500lb. Marlin some years ago that was another dream. The strength of the Sturgeon makes it a great challenge. My son really wants to catch one and fulfill one of his dreams. When do you feel is the best time of year to catch one? I am interested in coming up for another great trip. I would really like to try and join the 8 ft. club Thanks again Regards, Jim Revene

Grant:
Just wanted to extend my thank you for a wonderful trip on Oct20th. My intent for the trip was to see both of my brothers fight a sturgeon and you delivered.
Again, thank you for all your efforts to ensure that both of my brothers had the opportunity, unfortunately there are 3 new addicts.
Gotta love the smiles
Regards,
Roy Almquist, Mission , BC
